Athletics at London Christian is an extension of the classroom. We believe that God has gifted each child and He has blessed some of his children with athletic talent. We believe the purpose of the interscholastic athletic program is to develop those special gifts. We believe that student athletes should be taught how to play the game or sport. We also believe that includes much more than how to win. It means how to play, how to dignify the game, honour the opponents or other competitors, the officials and even the spectators. Most of all, it means how we play to praise our Maker.
We have competitive junior and senior teams in Boys Basketball, Girls Basketball, Boys Volleyball, Girls Volleyball and we have a Boys Soccer team and a Girls Soccer team. We also have co-educational teams in junior and senior Badminton; midget, junior and senior Track and Field; and Cross Country. We have also had swimming and golf teams. Our teams compete in the Thames Valley Region Athletics (TVRA) and the Ontario Christian Secondary Schools Athletic Association (OCSSAA).
London District Christian Secondary School is an associate member of the TVRA which is comprised of the 36 secondary schools in the jurisdiction of the Thames Valley District School Board and the London District Catholic School board. TVRA is a member of the Western Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WOSSAA), which includes the TVRA and the 11 secondary schools of the Avon Maitland School Board. WOSSAA is one of the 19 associations that make up the Ontario Federation of School Athletics (OFSAA). LDCSS is classified as a single “A” school. OFSAA classifies schools by size and we are in the 500 or less students classification.
